The Manifold Atlas is an open resource: its content is released into the public domain and freely available on the world wide web under the same copyright rules as Wikipedia, the GNU Free Documentation License 1.3.

Contents

1 Writing on discussion pages

Each page of the Atlas carries a discussion page intended to store comments and questions related to that page on which any registered user can write.

To add to the discussion of page, click the link dicussion at the top of the page.

Begin each new entry with a section header == ... == and a title which describes your entry.

  • For example: == Question about the topological classification ==

Please conclude each entry on a discussion page with four tildes: ~~~~.

  • This automatically logs the time of your entry and your username.

Please do not edit any existing text on discussion pages.

2 General information

3 Contacting other users

E-mail addresss are not visible to other users but you may be contacted or can contact other users via a special form. To email another Manifold Atlas user:

  • go to their user page and click “E-mail this user” in the toolbox in the lower left-hand margin or your screen.
  • When you send a message this way, the other user will be sent your e-mail address, so they can contact you directly.

4 Your user page

We ask each registered user to create a user page.

  • Having logged in, simply click the red link with your user name at the top of page.
  • At a minimum your user page should contain some current contact information:
    • For example a current email address or work address or a link to your homepage.

Here is an example of generic user-page: Matthias Kreck. These pages run as follows:

  • ``This is the user-page of your name. For more information please see my [URL homepage].´´

In some cases the administrators will create a generic user-page for a new user which can then be edited if desired.

Below is some text you can cut, paste and modify to quickly create your user-page:

1) ``This is the user-page of your name. For more information please see my [URL homepage].´´

2) ``This is the user-page of your name. For more information please see my [URL homepage].´´

Below is a list of the last XXX pages I worked on:

<DPL>

namespace=Main

nottitlematch=Main_Page|Sandbox|Links

ordermethod=lastedit

order=descending

modifiedby=User Name

count=XXX

</DPL>

5 Your preferences

Your preferences control the way the Atlas appears and operates for you.

In particular you and turn Math Jax on and off in the Appearance section of your preferences.

You can view and adjust your preferences by clicking my preferences at the top of the page.

Make sure you are logged in though.

If you have queries or questions, you may email the administrators.
