An Atlas writing workshop is a sort of hackathon for topologists.
Over a period of usually two days, we introduce the Atlas to participants and then sit together to discuss manifolds and related topics and to write on the Atlas.
Below is a summary of the writing workshops to date:

1 Münster June 2010
The first Atlas workshop was hosted by the Lück topology group in Muenser, June 07 & 08.
Participants:
- Wolfgang Lück, Michael Joachim, Ian Hambleton, Thilo Kuessner, Clara Löh, Tibor Macko, David Rosenthal, Christian Wegner, Raphael Zentner, Suyang, Wolfgang Steimle, Malte Röer, Philipp Kuehl, Henrik Rüping, Matthias Kreck and Diarmuid Crowley.
Pages worked on during the workshop:
- Aspherical manifolds, Curvature properties of exotic spheres, Dirac operators, Simplicial volume, Lens spaces, Fake lens spaces, rho-invariant, Fake complex projective spaces, Manifolds with singularities 3-manifolds, Foliations, Geometric 3-manifolds, Classifying spaces for families of subgroups, Intersection forms, 4-manifolds: 1-connected, Links of singular points of complex hypersurfaces, Surgery obstruction groups.
2 Będlewo November 2010
The second Atlas writers workshop took place in Będlewo: the local organiser were Tadeusz Januszkiewicz and Krzysztof Pawałowski.
- The workshop was supported by the Stefan Banach International Mathematical Center (part of the IM PAN, Warsaw, Poland) and the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, Poland.
Participants:
- Krzysztof Pawałowski, Tadeusz Januszkiewicz, Stefan Jackowski, Bogusław Hajduk, Alex Tralle, Pawel Walczak, Marek Kaluba, Matthias Kreck and Diarmuid Crowley.

- Group actions on spheres, Group actions on Euclidean spaces, Group actions on disks, Laitinen conjecture, One fixed point actions on spheres, Petrie conjecture, Smith equivalence of representations, Symplectic manifolds, Grassmann manifolds, Dynamics of foliations, Stable classification of manifolds, Stable classification of 4-manifolds.
3 Bonn December 2010
From December 13th - 15th, there was a focused meeting at the HIM.
Participants:
Pages worked on during or following the meeting:
- Axiomatization of the manifold concept, Bott periodicity and exotic spheres: some comments, Selected publications in manifold theory, Lens spaces: a history, Poincaré’s homology sphere, Projective plane: a history and Poincaré's cube manifolds.
At the end of the meeting, Jeremy Gray joined the editorial board.
